New York Office

On the 20th Anniversary of the ADA, July 26, 2010, DRA opened a branch office in New York City. DRA has always operated nationally and statewide. This branch office will enhance DRA's nationwide presence and will allow us to focus on multiple problems faced by New Yorkers with disabilities.

DRA has formed a New York Advisory Board with prominent members of the Bar, Disability, and Business community. Its current members include: Evan Davis, Blaine V. Fogg, Margaret M. Foran, Stephen G. Foresta, Janni Lehrer-Stein, Alan Levine, Gary Phelan, Eugene Pinover, and Susie Wilson.

Heading up the New York office is Julia Pinover, Esq. who previously worked as an attorney at DRA's California office. The New York office is working closely with major grassroots disability organizations to ascertain and advance their needs. It has already filed several major lawsuits concerning inaccessible polling places for voters with disabilities and physical barriers to transportation in New York City which prevent people with disabilities from fully and safely enjoying the City and limiting their ability to get to work, school, or finding employment. Read more about these cases. DRA is currently investigating such issues as adequate planning for the needs of New Yorkers with disabilities during emergency situations, and access to health care facilities in the New York area.
